When I took my first yoga class about three years ago, I hated it. I thought it was too slow, too easy (heh!), too…bor-ing. But, I stuck with it. At first, for the wrong reasons, like wanting to compete with fellow classmates in flexibility and strength poses. But when I finally learned to calm my mind and let go of my ego, I started reaping the physical and mental benefits yoga has to offer. If I have time for nothing else, I make sure I stretch every day, even for 10 minutes—it’s one of the nicest things you can do for your body! I’m definitely what I’d call a Wannabe Yogi, but I can do a pretty mean Full Wheel, Bound Pigeon and Full Vasisthasana.

I ran the NYC Half Marathon (my first!) this year. (Stupidly) I didn’t follow a training plan to prep for this race, but I managed to finish in 2:04. Not too shabby! Here I am with my triplet sister, Liza. You’ll see her often often on the blog!
